We are proud to announce the birth of Release Candidate 2. It comes in at a tidy 1.78 Megs as opposed to 3.37 M. We decided to keep the help files on this server and not ship them with each release. We will bundle them with the upcoming manual for those that like to read offline. This smaller size makes installation much faster and more reliable.
Major changes to the parameters! We used to have most parameters adjustable at the menu level. This was more obvious, which was good, but a pain to change and easy to mix up. We have moved most parameters now to be global Component Parameters which can be set from the Store or default MyMuse screen in administration. Menus can over ride them if you like. This is more the Joomla! Way.
IMPORTANT! If you are upgrading from a previous version you will have to open and save the Component Parameters and go through your menus. Check the Parameters (Component) section.

New feature that can be set in the store parameters "No registration". Users will see only the first name, last name, email, country and state fields. We use a dummy account for them in the background and save their info to the individual order. If you only have downloads and want to whip them through the store without creating an account, this is the fastest way.
Now you can place your files outside the web root.The web process will need access to the directory so you may need to adjust the permissions and/or owner. Certain php configurations may stop this and I have not tested on windows. Your mileage may vary. A side effect is you cannot listen to the tracks in the admin area.

The latest release (RC1-71) comes with support for coupons. Make them apply to one product or the whole order. Make them a percentage discount or a fixed amount. Have start dates and end dates. Multi faceted coupons.

Now create shopper groups and give them a discount (example 10%).
Use for your frequent customers or gold buyers.
Right now you must assign the customer to the new shopper group by hand.
